The second week of our vacation

I will go over this week rather quickly so I can start blogging each day.

Monday we went to Ancona, the capital city of le Marche.
We had a very nice lunch and walked up the montain to see the old city of Ancona with a nice view over the Harbour bay.

Tuesday we didn't do anything. Just being lazy at the apartment enjoying the swimming pool, the  view, reading, listening to music. I enjoyed gathering (see pictures) some lettuce and arugola from the garden from Ca'Palazzo to make a nice salad for lunch with pear, gorgozola and a variation of mixed crunched nuts with a self made dressing of olio d'oliva and Balsamico de Modena.
In the evening we went for dinner to Mondavio. Another beautiful historic castle (see pictures).

Wednesday we went to see le Grotta di Frasassi. Unfortunately we were not allowed to make pictures so I can only tell you how amazing nature is. This cave is the biggest of Europe and the inside is as big as le Duomo of Milan. No one can make such beautiful pieces as nature does.

Thursday we drove to Agriturismo Vellaneta (www.vellaneta.com). As I had contacted the owner, Jacqueline to see if we could have dinner with them, since her husband enjoys to cook and does this for the group on arrival, like our host does too. But as our evenings were already filled we had decide on having an aperatif, which actually end up in a coffee with a nice homemade crostata.
After our visit to La Velanetta we went to Agricampagna, a bit further on top of the hill. This is a reastaurant where the food is made with everything from their farm, meet, pigeon, chicken and rabbit. The same with the vegatables.
From La Vellaneta you can hike to this 'restaurant'.  It took us a bit more time to realy find the place. The two signs are only visible in the beginning of the road. up on the hill there are three or four houses with one farm. I knew from Margreet (owner of Ca'Palazzo) they own a farm so there I called out to ask if they knew 'Agricampagna'. One of the ladies came out and was so friendly. She was inside with her daughter, son and family friend having dnner. We were the only ones at that time, but that doesn't seem to matter to them.

Once again we had a very very nice home made dinner with antipasti (faro, zuccini and little putple flowers, salumi and cheese) primo piatti was pasta (homemade) with there homemade meat sauce. Kyran had tagliatelle with duck red sauce. Stan and I had a secondi piatti which was the mixed meats (chicken, rabbit and pigeon) with potatoes and vegatables from the land.
Stan reading 'the killing' of which he finished in 2 days
